NEXT LEVEL THINKING

Updated: Jun 28, 2021

Hey fellow Christian Entrepreneurs!

This is part of the what we need to STOP DOING to get to the NEXT LEVEL series. Let me know what your thoughts are on this series in the comments. For real, let me know 😳.

As early entrepreneurs we start out with tonnes of energy for the vision and dream that we believe is our purpose and it looks like it's going to be easy, and we're going to do this and that and make this impact and help ourselves, our families and communities. It's exhilarating to get started on a new journey of purpose FINALLY! (Are you with me on this 🤚🏾?)

And then, slowly but with great certainty, reality hits. It's not going to be easy, and just about no-one thinks it's going to work. And we're beginning to look all kinds of crazy for continuing with this pursuit instead of "getting a real job."

Do you understand this struggle?

When you know with everything that's within you that this is what you're supposed to do but it doesn't look like much to anyone else. This is the faith window we talked about in the Christian Entrepreneur's Toolkit. There's a reason we are told to be STRONG AND COURAGEOUS many times over in the Bible. (God knew this moment was coming.) Difficulties along the way are not a sign that we should stop, it's just part of the journey to reaching our destiny. Remember the instruction in the Word.

Joshua 1: 9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Isn't it interesting that it doesn't say, concern yourself with how you will get to the promised land. So, you don't have the necessary skills. So, you don't have the money or connections. So you don't think you can do it. It ALL doesn't matter. There's no need to be anxious. The end has already been guaranteed. It's your inheritance. We only need to do one thing (well two things), we have to remain strong and courageous.

So, with this in light: Whatever you do, don't waver. Not in thought, not in deed! Keep ploughing. Don't give in to having two minds, be all in. Where you feel you are falling short, go to the One who sent you in prayer. The answer will be revealed.

James 1: 6 - 8 tells us, "But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

I know, things are not working out the way you thought but that doesn't mean the vision was wrong, it may just mean your business strategy was wrong. Strategy can be fixed. Vision must never be revised.

If you have made the decision to be an entrepreneur, work on your business acumen. Get business knowledge, talk to seasoned entrepreneurs, talk to corporate people, prepare for the journey ahead. This is faith in action. Get ready to dominate the space that God has called you into with excellence and a heart of service.

STOP getting permanently discouraged at every turn.

START understanding what the moment is teaching and power on with more energy and insight. It's a journey, enjoy the ride.
