It's impossible to sell if you think sales are "icky"! How can you sell if you think when you ask for business you're being a "slime ball"? All these horribly wrong misperceptions of sales will lead to the shutting down of your business.

Sales are the lifeblood of a business.

If you're not selling, you're not in business.

The reason I know that all those common ideas about sales are wrong is that we all buy stuff. Stuff we love, stuff we need, stuff we can't afford but have to have. We just can't stop buying. Buying is an everyday activity, and therefore so is SELLING!

If we're not selling, other people are.

People with products that are not as good as yours are making sales every single day!

It's important to really look at the beliefs we have about money and doing business:

What do you consider to be a lot of money?

What level of decision-maker are you comfortable talking to?

How do you view your worth in the world?

These are important questions to ask yourself says Merit Khan, CEO of SELLect Sales Development.

For most of us it's hard to even imagine ourselves being as successful as other entrepreneurs in the same space simply because we've never had that kind of success and don't personally know anyone who has been there.

The biggest problem with this mindset is that it blocks us from seizing opportunities. We have to work on our mindset.

Reframe what's possible for you.

Set a goal that makes you a little uncomfortable (that's how we grow).
